Andrea Motta Enhances Catania Press Conferences as the Personal Interpreter of President Ross Pelligra
Catania, September 2, 2023 – This summer, Andrea Motta embraced an exceptional role as the personal interpreter for Catania FC‘s president and Pelligra’s Chairman, Ross Pelligra, during a number of crucial events.
Motta, who had previously participated in an interview with Ross Pelligra last spring, serving as both a translator and ‘lending his voice’ to the rossazzurri president, displayed his versatility and expertise on significant occasions, including:
- The introduction of Catania’s new head coach, Luca Tabbiani, held at the President Park Hotel.
- A beach soccer derby between Pelligra’s Catania and Giuseppe Bosco’s Catania Beach Soccer.
- A private meeting between Catania and their sponsors at an exclusive villa in San Gregorio, Catania.
- A joint press conference featuring Pelligra and the Lega Pro president, Matteo Marani, just before the highly anticipated home debut of the rossazzurri at the Massimino stadium against Crotone, with an audience of 20,000 spectators.
“I didn’t encounter any particular challenges, mainly because I enjoy public speaking,” Motta stated. “Having worked as a sports journalist for many years, gracing prestigious stages like Wembley and the Emirates Stadium, these experiences are second nature to me.”
"Speaking English is a Huge Advantage for an SEO"
Andrea Motta shared his thoughts: “Although my daily work revolves around search engine optimization (SEO) rather than interpretation, English is an integral part of my life. After spending a decade in the UK, I continue speaking English regularly, as I mainly work with international companies. On top of that, I mainly speak English with my wife, and even with our kids, who were born abroad.”

"Glad to Offer my Skills to Catania"
“It was an honour for me to collaborate with such a prestigious club and to have the opportunity to utilise one of the skills I’ve acquired during my years abroad,“ Motta remarked. “After all, unfortunately fluency in the English language is not so common here in the south of Italy. I would be delighted to continue cooperating from time to time with Catania FC, should a similar opportunity arise in the future.”
